The hungry UFC title challenger Arman Tsarukyan is in good spirits ahead of his highly desired opportunity. He will be locking horns with the lightweight champion at UFC 311 on 18th January at the Intuit Dome, California.

A win opens two doors for Arman Tsarukyan, his first option would be to face a fresh new contender or give Islam Makhachev an immediate rematch opportunity – in fancier terms a 'trilogy bout'. Interestingly, Arman Tsarukyan has already mapped out his future fighting preferences and he would prefer facing Islam Makhachev for the third time if he wins on Saturday night over fighting another contender.

As far as the fight is concerned, this match is one of those where both contenders are of tight competition to one another. Why? Because they both have a skill that prevented many UFC contenders from capturing the title: 'grappling'.

Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan are well rounded with striking and grappling. So from the entertainment perspective fans should expect nothing but fireworks.

Arman Tsarukyan on fighting Islam Makhachev

In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Arman Tsarukyan shared his thoughts on fighting the current lightweight champion for a trilogy.

“With Islam, of course, this is the best fight that I can have, you know,” Tsarukyan said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “In Russian, we say when you shoot, you kill two rabbits in one shot, you know? Rematch and the title fight. You know, it’s not just a rematch.

Right now, we are one of the best lightweights, I’m No. 1, he’s the champion, and this fight is not just Islam vs. Oliveira. Oliveira knows very well grappling and striking, but he doesn’t know how to wrestle. I am so well-rounded, and I know how to wrestle, grapple, and he knows as well. So, it’s going to be such an interesting fight. If I was a fan, I would like to watch my fight”.

Javier Mendez gives inspirational speech to Islam Makhachev ahead of his fight against Arman Tsarukyan:

“If the best you’re gonna be is world champion, everything you do needs to be for that one particular goal to be the best you can be…
