Anthony Davis, one of the most important players of the Dallas Mavericks, will soon have to go under the knife - this time due to eye problems. Namely, he got the injury on April 2, when club teammate Daniel Gafford elbowed him in the head. That match was his comeback performance after previously missing 18 games due to leg muscle problems.

What at least encourages the fans of the team from Texas is the news that the 31-year-old could be fully ready for the start of the training camp in September. This means that he could go through the entire training cycle and try to finally enter the season healthy and without strain.

Constant health problems

However, whenever the name of this high center is mentioned, it is difficult to avoid the topic - injuries. Even when he was wearing the Lakers jersey, he had a reputation as a player who is almost impossible to stay whole for an entire season. The same pattern is repeated in the new club.

Since arriving in Dallas in exchange for Luka Dončić, Davis has played only nine games out of a possible 33. This was far below expectations, given that many saw him as the team's new hope.

In the last seven seasons, he managed to play more than 60 matches in the regular part of the competition only once. It is clear that Mevsi can dream big things with him - but only if he stays healthy. And that is always a big "if".

To make things more interesting, a former teammate of Lebron James recently stated: "Luka is no longer here, but the Mavs have a new star - me."

Now, he has to prove it on the field. But to begin with - let him go through the operation successfully.

It is really difficult to predict the future of this club and in which direction everything will go after the absence of such an important figure, but there is no doubt that Davis's return will be key for them and a turning point. He has always been the foundation of this team.
