It's been a while since the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a tough and painful Super Bowl defeat against the Philadelphia team. Although the season ended disappointingly, the atmosphere in the team is now completely different - they are turning to new challenges.

One of the best quarterbacks of today, 28-year-old Patrick Mahomes, is aware that the bitter taste of defeat cannot just disappear. However, he does not want to bother with the past anymore.

- "Whenever you lose, you get that feeling in your stomach, the desire for revenge, whatever someone calls it. But I'm not going to talk too much about it, I just want to get out on the field and play football," said the Chiefs leader.

Desire to play, not just win

Although Mahomes led the team to the grand final last season, it somehow seemed like he didn't truly enjoy it. Instead of joy, everything seemed like a struggle under pressure. That's exactly what he wants to change now - to bring back the smile, play and energy he had before.

– "Honestly, I'm ready to play football. I want to have fun on the field again. It's always special to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. I can't say there was too much pressure last season, but it felt like we HAD to win every game. Now I want to play with my heart. If we have fun, the wins will come."

Having already won everything there is to win, Mahomes and his team know that the key to success is the right approach. If they get back to basics and love the game again, the results will come.

The Chiefs are heading into the new season with big ambitions, but also a slightly more relaxed tone. Maybe that's exactly what they lacked last time.

There is no doubt that an exciting future awaits us, not only when it comes to this club, but other clubs as well.
