It has been a while since we last heard from Alex Pereira aiming at Jamahal Hill. The verbal sparring between the two fighters has been escalating gradually, as Hill and Jiri Prochazka engage in provoking each other over past bouts and next contests. Here’s what Alex Pereira recently tweeted that hyped all MMA fans on social media:
“Calm down, my son. Pass this test and Dad will give you a second chance”.
The UFC light heavyweight champion is referring to Jamahal's scheduled bout against Jiri Prochozaka which is scheduled to take place on 18th Jan at UFC 311.
The current 205-pound holder Pereira warned the former champ that he shouldn’t get too complacent and ignore him. The backdrop to that tension was Pereira’s domination of Hill which took place in April at UFC 300. An iconic 1st round knockout win, that’s has been widely celebrated by all die-hard fans.
The fight had quite an abrupt ending – in no time all the spectators took a break to catch their breath. Have a look at the knockout below:

Jiri Prochazka vs Jamahal Hill set for UFC 311
This recent warning is as if Pereira wants to make the former champ remember the previous fight’s conclusion that could cost him his life if he underestimates his contender again. While some critics will appropriately suggest that that momentary stop could have altered the course of the fighting, the class finish from Pereira was sufficient to silence many of the doubters of his supremacy in the light heavyweight division.
Jamahal has over the years been outspoken on his view regarding the loss most notably criticizing Poatan for having capitalized on the brief break in the fight to close the distance. Hill has kept on voicing his frustrations on the social media forcing people to open discussions on the fight.
Although Hill is busy training for his fight with Prochazka he is still sharply aware of his loss and its implications to this day. The declaration from Pereira as the bout nears is a psychological dig on Jamahal.
