After his adventure in Ferrari is over, Carlos Sainz is ready for a new challenge. His new destination is Williams, a team that does not want to be in the shadow of the big teams in F1. The ambitions of Wailliams from 2025 are much bigger, and an important element in the whole story will be Carlos Sainz, a 30-year-old Spaniard, who previously defended the colors of Ferrari.
Although he had a solid season behind him, the arrival of Hamilton forced the managers to terminate the contract with Sainz and wish him luck in another team.
In an interview with the media, the Spaniard referred to the predictions of various experts and answered whether there is a chance to be in the top, given that Williams is not a team that is usually in the top part of the table. Sainz seems to be skeptical and does not know what to expect when it comes to 2025.
“Yeah, that is a question that I cannot answer,” Sainz said, as quoted by Crash.
“It’s impossible to predict the future, impossible to know how long it’s going to take me and Williams to be back fighting for podium positions.
I think James said it the other day and calmed everyone’s expectations, that next year is going to be a tough year and a learning year before we prepare for the change of regulations in ‘26, where I believe the team is investing and the team is preparing to maximise that chance."
Sainz shares his expectations
The experienced driver stresses that the most important thing is his determination to make a success. He has no doubts about his capacity to succeed: He is convinced that he can write a great story with Williams, but of course it will be important that the leaders of Williams provide him with a car with which he can fight for the top.
Carlos did not forget to mention the unity, which is the foundation of every team. What do you think? Can Carlos be in the top 5 at the end of the season? It will be interesting to follow his progress.
