Tony Stewart, a well-known face of the NASCAR scene, made a strange decision a few months ago, deciding to leave the world of NASCAR. However, this 53-year-old is still an important screw in the whole story, given that his opinion is highly respected by NASCAR fans. In an interview with the media, Stewart addressed the case between NASCAR and 23XI Racing, revealing what he thinks about the whole case.

The team owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan is attracting a lot of attention, especially after the last clashes with NASCAR. Stewart commented on the lawsuit filed by the owners of not only 23XI Racing but also Front Row Motorsport. However, before that, we will refer to the statements of the officials of both teams who pointed out that they have a huge passion for racing and winning. They stressed that they share the opinion that changes are important for this sport.

Their wishes are that we watch NASCAR which will be fair, competitive, and NASCAR that will benefit the drivers, sponsors, teams, and ultimately the fans. It is clear that both teams have similar ideals and visions, which they strive to present in the coming years. It is important to point out that each of their ideas and visions will have to be approved by NASCAR officials first, who have shown that they are not very open to innovation and specific proposals.

NASCAR leaders want to preserve the essence of this sport, considering that the conditions for performance on NASCAR tracks must be met, no matter what.

Denny Hamlin reacts

Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing, said in an interview with the media that the situation is simple in his opinion. The experienced NASCAR driver gave the example of many sports, stating that when the teams progress, the fans benefit, and at the same time, those who invest in the sport should have a fair share in the whole story. His wishes are for things to become identical in the NASCAR world. The question is whether NASCAR leaders want such a thing. Judging by what we had the chance to see, they are not particularly open to such an idea.

Tony Stewart reacts

Stewart was clear during one of his guest appearances mentioning that he considered charter agreements a joke. A well-known face of the NASCAR scene believes that fans, and everyone who is interested in this sport, should look at things from other angles and understand what Rick Hendrick wanted to say when it comes to the charter agreement. He stresses that Rick Hendrick's words are not actually what Rick wants to say.

"The charter agreements are a joke. And if people aren't smart enough to read between the lines – when someone like Rick Hendrick says, 'I just got tired of arguing with them,' do you think Rick Hendrick runs his business and negotiations and just says, 'I'm going to just sign this agreement because I'm tired of arguing with you.' Rick Hendrick's never done that a day in his life."- he said, as quoted by Macon.

The 53-year-old wants people to read between the lines and clearly understand what the message of everything is. He has already pointed out earlier that he does not want to be part of this story, and it seems that he is not particularly interested in delving deeper into problems of this nature. His wishes are now to dedicate himself to some completely different things.

"So, if people aren't smart enough to read between the lines and figuring out what that means, then you're all missing the whole big picture all by itself. So, it's just an area I don't want to be a part of anymore. I'm a purist, I'm an old-school guy when it comes to racing."- Tony Stewart concluded.

It will be interesting to follow in which direction this case will go, but the fact is that we have not witnessed problems of this nature on NASCAR tracks for a long time. It would be a huge surprise if we didn't see big teams on NASCAR tracks in the coming years.

Hamlin, like the friendly team, will obviously not give up on their goals, wanting NASCAR officials to finally understand that it is important to appreciate the teams that are there.

NASCAR officials also seem stubborn when it comes to this case. It is obvious that they have no intention of giving up their original positions. However, the future could provide answers as to what will happen in this case. One side will certainly have to give in, but it is not known who will. Hamlin wants his team to reach the throne next year. This situation is not in his favor.
