For many years, Steph Curry and LeBron James have been competitors, and as such, they have met more than once in the highest-level games within the schedules of their milestones. Nevertheless, the 2024 Olympic Games hosted in Paris were the first games the two basketball legends played together, helping the United States retain the Olympic title for the fifth time.

This was a perfect opportunity for them to use their athleticism, collect all emotions and feelings, and work as a team. In the gold-medal showdown, shooting Sty Curry dazzled the crowd with a series of cool, calm, and clutch shots in the final quarter.

Once again, his coolness under pressure amazed both the fans and the players. But as much as Curry was productive and stood out in such a championship game, a more important reflection overshadowed all his achievements playing together with James on such a great occasion.

Curry on Teaming

In an interview with People, Curry discussed how it felt lining up next to LeBron during a game that mattered so much. "I think for me, yes, it is all the history, all the wars on the court, all the discussions, and here we are, actually able to be together and not in an All-Star kind of game, but rather in a real game like the finals where there is a lot at stake.

That's a big shift in the relationship, in my eyes, and in friendship," Curry mentioned. These two greats, who are always ready to throw down, qualified and played together in the same team during the Olympics. For him, it raised another level of respect with James, fostered by their joint mission for Team USA.

"I guess it is more of the future experiences as we may be together on a team or regardless of that," Curry said further. While the two players prepare for the next challenging NBA season, there is little doubt that they will still carry their Olympic victory in their memories.

The gold medal was a totally and completely obvious achievement, but probably the most important thing is that they met each other on and off the court.
