Shara Magomedov suffered his first UFC loss at an event in Saudi Arabia, but he claims he wasn't in the best physical condition for the fight. Although he wanted to prove himself, he says his health issues affected his performance.
Michael Page dominated the fight, using his advantages, and the judges ultimately decided unanimously that Page was the winner. Two judges scored the fight 30-27 in favor of the former Bellator champion, while the third gave Magomedov one round (29-28). Despite all the difficulties during the preparation, the Dagestani decided to continue the fight, confident that he can find a way to victory.
Magomedov aims to return after defeat

I knew all the risks when stepping in with such a nightmarish health condition and preparation. I felt that despite everything, I could still win—but it didn’t work out, and that’s it."- he wrote.
The Dagestani also expressed his gratitude to the UFC for the opportunity, but also to everyone who supported him through all the difficulties. He emphasized that he did not want to disappoint the audience and cancel the fight, despite the challenges he had.

Magomedov's performance
Although he did not reveal any specific health problems that plagued him before the fight, Magomedov's performance was far from what his fans are used to. Before this defeat, he achieved significant victories against Michał Oleksiejczuk and Bruno Silva, and also stopped Antonio Trocoli and Arman Petrosyan by knockout, whom he sent unconscious in UFC 308 with one of the best knockouts of 2024.
This defeat could only be an additional motivation for a fighter of his caliber, who certainly does not think about giving up for a moment. The Dagestani is motivated to move even stronger in the future and show his qualities to the masses, although we know that he has been a top fighter for a long time.
