Sean Strickland is amongst the many people who have had the privilege of sparring and sharing the cage with Pereira, and based on their extensive experience, he feels Khalil Rountree won’t stand a chance on 6th October.
The upcoming UFC light heavyweight title fight has been heavily questioned; many professionals and fight fans felt that Khalil Rountree Jr isn’t the ideal candidate to serve the role as a title challenger, and many feel the exact opposite.

Sean Strickland explains why it’s so tough facing Alex Pereira:
“I’m not scared of Alex, but my chin… I’ll just go to sleep it’s a weird thing…
For me to knock Alex out he has to do something really stupid… if you gave me one free shot and you said give everything you can,… pic.twitter.com/jqMHovjj5g — Championship Rounds (@ChampRDS) August 23, 2024
Sean Strickland’s analysis
In a recent interview with Helen Yee, Sean Strickland explained how he feels Pereira will rise victorious.
“I just can’t see Khalil pulling it off,” Strickland said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “I think I may have watched him fight Anthony Smith. I just can’t see it happening. I don’t think he has the tools in the toolbox to beat Pereira.
He’s not knocking him out. He’s not outstriking him. He’s not outwrestling him. I think Alex is going to make easy work of this fight”.
