Oleksandr Usyk, the current undefeated world heavyweight champion, has expressed his support for a new project in the world of boxing – the TKO Boxing League, launched by Dana White and Tuki Alalshikh. The initiative, which aims to transform boxing along the lines of the UFC, has caused different reactions within the boxing community, but Usyk believes that it could bring freshness and opportunities for the future of the sport.

Usyk commented on this news in an interview with Al Arabiya News, where he emphasized that the idea is "incredible" and that it is important to create new initiatives. According to him, although many may think that such projects will not succeed, it is always important to be open to innovation. In short, he supports such attempts, although he has not yet received an invitation to participate. Oleksandr added that if the offer comes, his team would seriously consider joining the TKO League.

Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford fight

There is speculation that the league will begin with a spectacular fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford in September, which would be an amazing opportunity to promote the very beginning.

White, who has announced four "mega events" over the next two years, would certainly like to have Usyk as one of the key players. Given that Usyk is not tied to a single promoter, but has successfully competed in various fight events, one would expect his presence in the TKO League to be valuable.

However, let's not forget that Usyk still has to make a mandatory defense of his title against the interim champion, which may delay any concrete plans for appearances in the new league. Although Usyk does not seem to be in a hurry to make a decision, his future in boxing remains great, regardless of whether he joins the TKO League.

The Ukrainian boxer continues to capture attention day after day, there's no doubt about it. We'll see what will happen.
