After nine seasons spent with the Indiana Pacers, 28-year-old Myles Turner decided to take an important step in his career and move to the Milwaukee Bucks. On Friday, he was officially presented at a press conference, where he spoke openly about the reasons for leaving the team that played in the conference finals.

Turner has been a cornerstone of the Pacers defense for many years. In the attack, he stood out as a quality partner in the pick and roll game with Tyrese Haliburton, and due to his solid three-point shot, he helped widen the field and open up space for Pascal Siakam's penetrations. It was his shooting that significantly contributed to the team's tactical flexibility.

New challenges in Milwaukee

Indiana almost touched the top and could have won the title if Haliburton hadn't gotten hurt. The young playmaker suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury and will miss the entire next season, which automatically means that the Pacers can no longer count on a championship in the near future.

Because of this, the experienced center decided to sign a four-year contract with the Bucks, worth 107 million dollars. "I wanted to stay competitive. Two years ago we played in the conference finals, last year's finals. I was part of winning basketball and that changed my perspective. In Milwaukee, I see a chance to stay at that level," said Turner.

It is expected that he, together with Giannis Antetokounmpo, will form a real defensive force in the new club. "I was tired of his elbows in the chest and shoulder thrusts. I'm kidding, he's a generational talent and one of the best players of all time. We'll talk, I'm very familiar with his style of play. I think we'll work well, especially defensively. The whole roster is great, everyone sees the vision," the center added.

In order to bring in Turner, Milwaukee had to fire Damian Lillard, which further puts the onus on the new center to live up to the trust and bring the title back to Wisconsin with Giannis.
