Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's best player this season, shocked many with yesterday's interview and caused concern among fans. Namely, the Egyptian football player confirmed that this is his last season in Liverpool, which set off red alarms in the English city. "For now, this is my last season in Liverpool. Nothing has happened in the last six months. We are far from any progress in contract negotiations. Now we just have to wait and see," said Salah in an interview with Sky Sport.
Salah revealed that he has changed his mindset over the years, and his priority is now to win the Premier League more than the Champions League.
"For the last seven or eight years, I've always said I want to win the Champions League, but this is the first time I'll say I want to win the Premier League with Liverpool. Why? I have no idea. Probably because we didn't win the first one in the way we wanted to. In this last year at the club, we want to do something special for the club and the city."
The last time they won the title was during the COVID period. Liverpool could not celebrate the title in the way they wanted.
"We waited for that title for 30 years. We didn't have time to celebrate it properly, there was a pandemic. I still believe that the team needs a trophy. Besides me, there is half the team. Trent Alexander Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Alison, Robertson. We want to win something before we leave. A second title in the Premier League would strengthen our legacy, but I hope we can do it again."
