We are just over three weeks away from the UFC 319 event in Chicago, where the main event will be headlined by Dricus Du Plessis and Khamazat Chimaev in a battle for the middleweight title. The current "middleweight" champion will face the toughest challenge in his career – an exceptional wrestler, known as "Borz", and this duel has long been one of the most current topics among MMA fans.

Many fighters and trainers have already given their assessments about this fight, and among them the Dagestani fighter Sharaputdin Magomedov stood out. He did not hide his harsh prognosis.

"After the fight, we'll make sure we remember his name with a two-minute silence," Magomedov said at the UFC's media conference, hinting that Du Plessis may need a memorial service after the showdown with the Chechen.

Unlike Magomedov, who will compete at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi this weekend against Marc-Andre Barriault, the experienced Robert Whittaker, who will headline the same event against Reiner De Ridder, is giving the "Stillknocks" a chance.

The million dollar question

"It all comes down to one question: can Chimaev take him down and finish the fight before his opponent gets up? That's the million dollar question. If he doesn't finish him on the ground, I think he loses," Whittaker told FOX. He recalled his fight with Hamzat late last year, when the Chechen with a UAE passport completely dominated him with wrestling techniques, forcing him to submit in the first round and injuring him in the process.

This fight in Chicago promises to be a real spectacle and a lot of emotions, and the attitudes of Magomedov and Whittaker are further heating up the tensions ahead of the match.

There is no doubt that we can expect an extraordinary performance from two great fighters, who have shown many times that they know how to create an event that will remain inscribed in the history of this sport.
