On Sunday morning, the whole world was shocked by the news that Dallas decided to trade Luka Doncic. Even the basketball player himself, who didn't know anything about it, and is angry about such a decision of the club, decided not to answer the call to either Mavericks general manager Nick Harrison or team coach Jason Kidd.
The Slovenian basketball player sent an emotional message through social media, remembering the moment when he joined the team. Although he wanted to help the team win championships, his dream will remain unfulfilled. The young basketball player is grateful for the chance he got, stressing that basketball is his life.
“For a young kid from Slovenia coming to the U.S. for the first time, you made North Texas feel like home,” Doncic wrote.
“In good times and bad, from injuries to the NBA Finals, your support never changed. Thank you not only for sharing my joy in our best moments, but also for lifting me up when I needed it most.”

In another social media post, he pointed out that no matter what club he plays for, his desire and hunger for success will remain the same. Doncic thanked the Dallas administration, his teammates and everyone who supported him from day one.
“Grateful for this amazing opportunity,” Doncic wrote.
“Basketball means everything to me, and no matter where I play the game, I’ll do so with the same joy, passion and goal — to win championships.
To all the organizations I’ve worked with throughout the Dallas community, thank you for letting me contribute to your important work and join you in bringing light to those who need it,” Doncic wrote. “As I start the next part of my basketball journey, I am leaving a city that will always feel like a home away from home. Dallas is a special place, and Mavs fans are special fans.”
