Kevin Durant caused great controversy in 2016, when he decided to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and move to the Golden State Warriors. Many basketball fans did not forgive him for that move, considering that he betrayed his former team, and his transfer caused a real storm among fans.

He won two titles with the Warriors, and then played for the Brooklyn Nets. He is now with the Phoenix Suns, but his move from franchise to franchise continues to stir emotions among fans.

Although almost nine years have passed since his departure from Oklahoma, many basketball fans still haven't forgotten his decision. However, there is one thing that many people love about Durant, and that is his activity on the social network X (formerly Twitter). He often responds to fans, as well as famous personalities, expressing his opinion on various topics.

Scandal with Skip Bayless

Recently, Durant responded to Skip Bayless, a well-known TV personality and commentator, who criticized Durant by saying that he is a "semi-pro" player at the age of 36. Bayless stated:

"The more I watch him play, the more it seems to me that mentally he is already semi-retired. He is participating in a documentary about his life and it seems to me that he is slowly leaving basketball."

He added that the Phoenix Suns have a poor record this season, despite Durant's excellent numbers, and believes that the team is practically finished, because Durant is "counting down the days."

His statements clearly didn't sit well with Durant, who quickly replied, "**** it, we're both done, it was good while it lasted, Skip."

This answer caused additional attention from the media, given that Skip Bayless, at the age of 73, has a long career spanning more than four decades. He gained a lot of popularity in the 2010s, especially for his criticism of LeBron James, who he often claimed that Michael Jordan does things better.

With this answer, Durant further fueled speculation about his current mental state and motivation with the Phoenix Suns. Although he is still one of the best basketball players in the world, many wonder how long his involvement in the NBA will last. However, one thing is certain - KD is not a person who will calmly accept any criticism, especially when it is direct.
