Joel Embiid is once again facing challenges in his career, although fans expected great performances from him in the coming period.
Philadelphia center Joel Embiid will undergo arthroscopy of his left knee next week, and a rehabilitation examination will follow in six weeks, ESPN reports.
The Cameroonian-French-American basketball player ended his season at the end of February due to this injury, and consultations with doctors and specialists resulted in the decision that surgery was necessary.
Embiid stressed that it is difficult to accept such an outcome, but the experienced basketball player believes that he will come back stronger, and be at the same level as before. Although such things can shake self-confidence, Joel is sure that he can turn things around in his favor.
“The way I played a year ago is not the way I play now. It's desperate, I probably have to solve this problem, and then I will be at that level again. But it's hard to have confidence when you are not who you are,” Embiid said two months ago.
Embiid has played just 19 games this season, averaging 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The veteran has always been a key player for his team, and now Philadelphia will have to think carefully about how to continue without him.
Surgery
The Philadelphia center underwent surgery last February after Golden State Warriors center Jonathan Cumming fell on his leg in January. However, his problems continue, and the question is when we can expect him to return to the NBA courses.
“After further evaluation, it has been determined that he is medically unable to play and will miss the remainder of the season to focus on treatment and rehabilitation,” the team said in a statement in February.
The most important thing is that Embiid is determined and motivated to return to the NBA floor as soon as possible, and there is no doubt that such a desire will result in an early return.
