Sunday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys lost the match by 25-28 to the Baltimore Ravens at the AT&T stadium, bringing their record to 1-2. Similar to their defeat against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2, the Cowboys were porous defensively.

The Ravens had a field day against the Cowboys' defense, with new acquisition Derrick Henry helping. Henry managed 151 yards on 25 carries and crossed the touchdown line twice. In addition, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who completed two touchdowns, helped cover 299 yards in total.

DS scored 19 points in a row rather too late in the fourth quarter but failed to win as the time was over.

Missed Henry Opportunity

In the offseason, the whispers of Henry being linked to the Cowboys surfaced after he did not agree to terms with any team after the 2023 season.

Even Cowboys owner Jerry jones floated about the interest, the one who said he was all in. So, Dallas did not make a single attempt to sign Mary, and he signed with Baltimore. After Sunday's loss, Jones was asked about his decision not to pursue the signed former class, Tennessee Titans player.

The athletics team’s Jon Machota shared how he responded. “I am fond of our people,” Jones said. “We did not have the funds to sign Derrick Henry”. Rather than going after Henry, Jones chose to re-sign former first-round pick Ezekiel Elliott who had last donned the Cowboys uniform in 2022.

Hanson’s requirement of being placed on injured reserved has not borne the fruits that were expected towards the Dallas running game. They have for their part, only been able to gather a mere 221 rushing yards in 3 games.

The outcry from the supporters came very fast and specifically targeted Jones to explain why he refused to sign Henry. “Steven O’Neil will tell his kids about how he outsmarted the entire sports world as a teenager,” one of the fans took to social media. “Don’t like it but if I must say I hate, I hate Jerry Jones,” said another.
