Jean Todt was Michael Schumacher's boss from 2000 to 2004, and their relationship extended far beyond the professional sphere. After Michael Schumacher's serious accident in 2013, which resulted in serious injuries and his prolonged stay in an induced coma, Todt remained in contact with the family.

Although they were unable to maintain daily interaction, he was a great support to the family, visiting them regularly and maintaining a close relationship. He still shows a strong emotional connection with Schumacher's family and continues to visit them, maintaining that friendship even though Schumacher is unable to physically participate in these meetings.

"I often go to see him and his family," he said in a recent interview with Italy's La Repubblica. "Our relationship is much more than a working relationship. He has become a part of my life, and that life is now much broader than Formula 1 itself."

Skiing accident

After a horrific skiing accident in 2013, when Schumacher suffered serious head injuries and spent months in an induced coma, the family decided to remain private and not release information about his health. Todt fully respects that decision. "The family decided not to answer questions about his health, and I fully respect that," Todt added.

Michael Schumacher, a seven-time world champion, was known for his controversial actions on the track and his somewhat arrogant behavior off it. However, according to Todt, Michael Schumacher's character was often misunderstood. "Michael is a friend, a brother, and he made history," he said. "He may have seemed arrogant, but in reality he was very shy," Todt concluded, reminding us of the true nature of the driver who marked the era of Ferrari's dominance in Formula 1.

Michael is a person about whom colleagues and acquaintances have only words of praise, considering his great career and successes on the F1 tracks. His charisma, humor, and great performances are the reason why the German has gained so many fans around the world.
