Jannik Sinner, the current number one on the ATP list, has been in the spotlight for the last few months due to a controversial case that is shaking up world tennis. The young Italian is currently facing a three-month suspension, which is the result of an agreement between his lawyers and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). This case, which caused great reactions and divided opinions in the tennis public, continues to be the subject of numerous discussions.

Sinner at the center of the controversy: What will happen?

Although an agreement was reached on the suspension, which calmed the situation to a large extent, many are dissatisfied with how the whole case was resolved. The latest critic of this deal is the French sports doctor and doping expert, Jean-Pierre de Mondenard, who expressed serious doubts about the fairness of the settlement between Sinner and WADA. Mondenard stated that the settlement between Sinner's lawyers and WADA only satisfies the interest of those two parties, and not without certain controversies.

"The settlement between Sinner and WADA satisfies only the two mentioned parties. Janik's lawyer said that WADA was the one who proposed the settlement, even though she was the one who asked for a suspension of at least one year. Why did we have the opposite reaction? WADA and Sinner were apparently scared for different reasons," Mondenard said on social media.

He also criticized the lack of a study that would prove that Sinner's positive test was the result of accidental ingestion of the substance, which, according to him, is a problem that has not been sufficiently investigated.

In the meantime, Sinner's suspension expires on May 4, which is just before the start of the Masters tournament in Rome, where he will be welcomed as a favorite of the local fans. Although this case is still developing, Sinner has found support from Roger Federer's former coach, Severin Lüthi.

Lüthi stated that he admires Sinner's behavior in this difficult situation and believes that he is a true leader, who showed maturity despite the circumstances.
