Bill Goldberg, the famous fighter with a long career behind him is back in the spotlight ahead of what could be his last fight. Although many expect a spectacle, the 57-year-old admits that the current champion was not actually his first choice for that match.
Everything boiled over after last year's event in Atlanta, when the younger fighter publicly called out the legend. He did not remain mute. On the contrary, he responded in kind and asked for a title fight. Everything was confirmed in one of the shows of RAW.
However, as he himself says, everything could have been different:
"I was trying to organize a farewell fight, and he just inserted himself into the story. It could have been anyone who spoke badly about me and my family. I don't know if he planned it, but he showed up and I accepted him."
Bil Goldberg shares his emotions
The legendary fighter did not hide his emotions:
"I just want to punch his face in. They need to learn to respect their elders, because you never know who's still ready to fight."
Although he is not affected by the criticism of his younger colleagues, this fighter clearly shows that the older generation still has something to say in the ring. The match will take place this weekend, again in Atlanta, and everyone is wondering; will this be the end or a spectacular comeback?
We have to wait for Saturday and see if the legend will retire with a belt around his waist.
Fans are divided about his move. While some firmly believe that this is the beginning of something new, there is another side that is very skeptical about the future, feeling that this will be the end of an era.
Most people hope that Goldberg will be open for appearances in this prestigious company in the future as well, but it is difficult to give the right answer as to what really awaits us.
