NASCAR officials want to introduce interesting changes from year to year, which could change the atmosphere within NASCAR and increase competence. Although some are not delighted with these changes, NASCAR officials have clear visions, not considering too much what individuals have to say.

Denny Hamlin, a man who actively comments on events on the NASCAR scene, reacted to another one a few days ago during the 'Actions Detrimental' podcast. The experienced driver admitted that he had heard a rumor from NASCAR, believing that it would not become reality. Namely, it is about expanding the championship race to five drivers.

“I heard a dirty rumor and someone from NASCAR said it that maybe we should expand the championship race to five drivers,” Hamlin said, as quoted by On3

“Like no, you’re going the wrong direction. Please don’t do that. You’re just watering this down more. Stop making it easier, make it harder. Make it harder — you got to build the prestige of people."

Denny Hamlin opposes these changes: Let’s just say that’s a terrible idea

There is a trend among many sports, especially in the US, to make extreme changes that do not meet with positive reactions, but nevertheless, they believe that such changes can produce positive effects in the long term. The question is how much this change can necessarily mean a brighter future for NASCAR.

Denny Hamlin believes that it is not necessary to innovate all the time, and that the leaders of NASCAR sometimes have to realize that they are doing the wrong things. The reaction of the fans does not seem to be the best at the moment.

“Don’t keep opening it up to more places, more spots, more opportunity. No, you gotta make it special. … Let’s not even support that narrative. Let’s just say that’s a terrible idea and you’re going the wrong way. Less, not more.”- he concluded.
