Fresh from escaping an upset defeat in Week 1, Deion Sanders chastised the team for the defeat most likely making his fans think it is almost a loss for the side. It was a close contest, but Colorado narrowly emerged as the victors against North Dakota State by 31-26.

The Bison fans were on the edge of their seats when Cam Miller attempted one of the last possessions of the game with only five seconds left and the scoreless team trailing by 4 points. Cam Miller threw a 49-yard pass to Tyler Terhark, getting the Bison within four yards of scoring a touchdown, but the game clock ran out before they could run one play to win the game.

It seemed Sanders had no problem responding to questions from reporters at the post-game press conference, where his despicable team’s performance came under scrutiny. “You ever feel like you won but didn’t win? We had more points, but giving up that last touchdown on a run really bothered me,” Sanders said.

“We’re big on getting to the quarterback position, and there are plenty of young men who can do this job. We didn’t get it done”.

Deion Sanders Relief Evident

Was Sanders, with all of Sanders’ frustrations, putting it all out in the open that it was preferable to start the season with a win? “I’m thankful and happy we got the W,” he added.

“It’s one step closer to our dream. As for tonight, thirty-one NFL directors of scouting were there, and I guess they witnessed what they wanted to”. Even Sanders suspected that he crossed some lines looking after the game as he had to calm himself down.

However, he felt relieved that they managed to win their first game of the season. The defensive woes the Buffaloes experienced in the 4-8 campaign persisted, as they gave up 157 rushing yards and 292 yards in the air. Also, Colorado surrendered a very crucial fourth down, and North Dakota State was successful in 7 of 13 third down conversions. The Bison scored twenty points alone in the first half.
