Ali Abdelaziz feels Magomed Ankalaev has been done unjustly with the title fight delay and all the speculations surrounding it. Abdelaziz is hopeful of seeing Ankalaev getting his opportunity in 2025. According to Dana White, Magomed Ankalaev is the next title challenger – provided that he claims a win against Aleksandr Rakic on 26th October at UFC 308.

Magomed Ankalaev could turn out to be the toughest test in Alex Pereira’s career.

Dana White on why Magomed Ankalaev didn’t get a title shot against Alex Pereira:

“Yea [Magomed] is right there.

He will fight for a title as long as he holds his standing there”. #UFC #MMA #UFC303 pic.twitter.com/DwcFInaTHf — Championship Rounds (@ChampRDS) June 22, 2024

Ali Abdelaziz on Magomed Ankalaev getting title shot

In a recent interview with ESPN, Ali Abdelaziz shared his thoughts on Magomed Ankalaev’s delay with title shot opportunity.

“It’s * he’s not getting a title shot,” Abdelaziz said as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. "‘He just fought for the title, too.’ This is kind of what the UFC said. But the reality, I believe he’s the best light heavyweight on the planet.

I know it, you know it, Dana White knows it, Mick Maynard knows it. Alex Pereira became a big star – you can’t take this away from him. The guy is always game to fight. But every road has an end. Magomed Ankalaev will handle business, Alex Pereira will handle business, and these two guys will fight in 2025”.
